The Da Vinci Code

Oh, please, give me the book any day. Confessions first -- Tom Hanks is a class, class act, and yours truly is a big, big fan. Terminal, Castaway, Forrest Gump and even Catch Me If You Can have brought me to near-worship, but the flick just revisited the book. No substitute, really, for Dan Brown's extensive research slapped as fiction, and a seemingly last-minute attempt salvaged some technical-pride -- the effects with the anagrams and paintings. I still remember devouring the Da Vinci Code, gasping in my mind at every revelation. The movie made me yawn, and it wasn't the pre-knowledge -- just plain simple substandard delivery.

Why else? DVC's failure at the box-office might serve as a kick-up-the-rear for the makers of Angels and Demons.
